The project would act as a marketplace for the Maryland horse industry enabling breeders, trainers, and horse enthusiasts to trail ride, drive, compete and sell their animals in a centralized location. While at the same time it will enable the general public to experience the role of the horse in Maryland's past, present and future in a family friendly atmosphere. When surveyed in 2007 industry members indicated that the MHP was one of the most important MDA projects for the horse industry. When surveyed in 2005, industry members indicated that 97% of the industry is in favor of the project.
